Alex Brown

I qualified as a Chartered Town Planner in 2010 and a Chartered Surveyor in 2011, after graduating from the University of Reading (MSc Development Planning). My experience has covered a wide variety of locations throughout the UK and Europe, with a focus on London and the South East and includes valuation of land; development feasibility; financial viability assessments and reviews for both developers and public bodies; estate regeneration advice; land assembly; planning and acquisitions / disposals. I’ve also undertaken work in Europe.

My key clients include Berkeley Homes, Topland Group, Mapeley, Groveworld, London Borough of Havering, South Cambridgeshire District Council and St Congar.

MY RECENT PROJECTS

• Waterbeach New Town, Cambridgeshire – I advise South Cambridgeshire District Council on viability matters relating to the proposed 6,500 residential unit new town development north east of Cambridge. I am supporting the Council in its S106 and affordable housing negotiations with the applicant.
• London Resort, Swanscombe – I recently undertook a valuation of this 535-acre brownfield site on behalf of London Resort Company Holdings in connection with the proposed development of Swanscombe Peninsula for a destination theme park.
• SnOasis site, Great Blakenham, Ipswich – I recently undertook a valuation of this 260-acre former quarry site for loan security purposes. The site has planning permission for an indoor winter sports holiday resort development.
