Property Search

I’m a Consultant in our West End office and lead our Residential Leasehold Enfranchisement team, having led the team as a Partner from April 2017 to April 2019. I have considerable experience in valuation of residential properties in Central London for leasehold reform purposes, assist in the portfolio valuations of the residential property assets of three major Central London estates and have presented expert evidence at Tribunal.

My current work focuses on providing valuation advice relating to matters under Leasehold Reform Act 1967 (as amended) and the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 (as amended) and Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002. I have had first-hand experience of the principal valuation issues of the day and am at the cutting edge of developing valuation theory and practice in this specialised area.

My key clients include three major Central London estates, the Grosvenor (Mayfair & Belgravia), Cadogan (Knightsbridge & Chelsea) and Portman Estates (Marylebone), as well as private clients.  In the past I have also advised the Howard de Walden Estate (Marylebone) and the Ilchester Estate (Holland Park)

MY RECENT PROJECTS

  • I advised our London Estate clients on the implications of the Law Commission’s 2018 Consultation on Leasehold Home Ownership (Consultation Paper 238), which included submitting detailed responses on behalf of the firm.
  • I’ve given evidence on valuation issues in the leading cases heard before the Upper Tribunal (formerly the Lands Tribunal) on key valuation issues. This included giving evidence as a witness of fact in the leading case on relativity (Mundy Appeals) concerning the makeup of the Gerald Eve 1996 Graph of Relativities, which the Upper Tribunal found to be the “industry standard”, widely used by LRA practitioners in Prime Central London.
  • I’ve given evidence as an expert in a number of cases, including: the treatment of development value in Schedule 6 valuations (82 Portland Place), purchaser’s margin and relativity (Cravecrest) and the complex leasehold and freehold structure on the Grosvenor Belgravia Estate.
