I provide rating advice to power generating companies in Scotland, dealing with Transmission and Distribution networks, power stations and renewables sites. I also advise University clients on rating and valuation matters, dealing with strategic planning and asset utilisation measures. I assist clients on estate management and lease consultancy terms as well as development agreements.

I am actively involved in dispute resolution and have acted as an Independent Expert or Arbitrator on a wide range of complex rent review, development and valuation issues. I have represented clients in compulsory purchase cases on a variety of significant claims.

My clients include Scottish Power, SSE, EDF, Eon, International Power, Universities of Edinburgh, Aberdeen Aggregate Industries, Hansen Aggregates, Barr Ltd, AG Barr and Standard Life.

MY RECENT PROJECTS

• I’ve given compulsory purchase advice on a large retail development at the St James Centre, Edinburgh. This advice required an in-depth knowledge of land compensation and secured a significant sum for our client.
• I provided development valuation advice on a strategic waterside development site in Clydebank, Glasgow. A very complex and large site phasing produced a flexible valuation solution allowing our client to utilise in several bespoke ways.
• I provided overlapping arbitration advice on ground lease properties in Aberdeen. This set the benchmark levels for many properties in and around Aberdeen.
