Build to Rent Manchester

This is the first of a series of reports from Gerald Eve looking at the UKs major regional BTR hubs. Rather than relying on planning portals and 3rd party databases to assess the number of consented units within Greater Manchester, Gerald Eve annually inspect every consented site in each of the Greater Manchester boroughs to assess actual progress and feasibility of delivery. We have used this approach to develop a true supply side picture within the city, which does not rely on potentially inflated numbers from sites which in the current climate which are unlikely to be delivered in their existing consented form.

In conjunction with the true supply side picture, the report also analyses affordability and the potential for future growth in demand for BTR units in each of the Greater Manchester boroughs. Using this information, it is possible to identify the boroughs offering the best opportunity for further BTR development. This research is based on a response to the new Places For Everyone consultation released by authorities in Greater Manchester.
