Revaluation 2020
The draft revaluation assessments for properties in Northern Ireland were published at the beginning of January in advance of the new Rating List going live on 1st April 2020. Appeals can be lodged from this date.
The Northern Ireland Executive will put in place a Budget before the end of March that will include setting the Regional Rate used to calculate the 2020/21 rates bills. The Executive will also be studying the detail of the business rates holiday for small businesses in England before deciding how best to support small businesses in Northern Ireland.
In line with the rest of the UK Land and Property Services (LPS) issued a Business Rates Review consultation at the end of last year and are currently in the process of analysing the responses.
