Brian Owen

I undertake and advise on asset management cost control including rent review negotiation, lease renewals, and lease re-gears. I work on the disposal of surplus hotel, restaurant and pub sites, including advising on value and the best method of disposal. This includes identifying and advising on alternative use development potential. Part of my consultancy role includes acquiring leisure sites and going concerns throughout the UK and improving site performance by acquiring adjacent land and buildings to allow extension or other diversification.

Heading up a team of surveyors, I am responsible for managing in excess of 1,800 properties in the UK for Whitbread including all of their associated brands (Premier Inn, Costa, Beefeater, Brewers Fayre etc) as well as circa 200 Charles Wells pubs. I also have direct responsibility for the TGI Fridays property portfolio of more than 75 restaurants.

• I have provided strategic advice to Whitbread on property disposals and was named winner of the of the Whitbread Corporate Services Supplier of the Year Award.
• I undertake hotel rent review negotiations and alternative use/development advice and management.
