I’m a Senior Associate in the Hotel Rating team here at Gerald Eve, and a member of our Leisure and Alternative Markets teams. I have over 12 years’ experience as a qualified Chartered Surveyor exclusively specialising in rating and have been specifically valuing hotels for business rates purposes for in excess of 10 years.
I have considerable experience of hotel rating gained in both the private sector, and formerly with the Valuation Office Agency, as part of HMRC. As a result, I have the benefit of experience from both viewpoints and a wide base of knowledge regarding all aspects of business rates affecting the hotel sector. During this time I have resolved hundreds of business rates appeals spanning the last three rating lists. I am now in the perfect position to advise our clients on all aspects of business rates, with the focused aim of reducing the client’s rates liabilities.
My client list is extensive and includes: Whitbread, Atlas, Jupiter, Dalata, Marriott, Hilton, LGH Hotels Management Ltd, Citizen M, Park Plaza, Malmaison / Hotel Du Vin, Four Seasons, Shangri-La Hotel, Dorchester Collection plus many more, as well as the company being the sole representative for the UKHospitality Association.
